About Elizabeth Knauss

I was born an artist. I filled up journals and sketch books instead of doing my homework (don't worry, Mom & Dad, I still did my homework). It was an outlet and way of expressing myself I couldn't in words. Growing up in the Philly suburbs and farmlands of Pennsyltucky, I developed a strong love of nature which continues to be a source of inspiration today.

I enjoy learning how things work and are made. One summer my grandmother taught me to knit and then began a love story with all things fiber. I received my BFA in Textiles from RISD with a focus in home interiors.

Armed with my skills as a painter and fiber artist, I attempted to find success in the design world, but eventually made my way into grocery retail management. Here I found community, happiness and a renewed sense of self-confidence that I’m so grateful for. After COVID, I decided to take a step back from management and to continue my art.

Other than painting, I can be found gardening and hanging outside with my little family, Mark &River.
